Content Issue 5
REDLIST#5 is dedicated to Friendship, but not as an idealized notion, but as a space of trust for imagining personal and collective freedom.
This issue #5 comes with three photography stories from Gerardo Vizmanos and collaborations from Hunter O´Hanian, Alexander Schneider and Daniel Borillo.
REDLIST comes with a Poster and the option to buy special editions of Prints.
VENCER
Photography by Gerardo Vizmanos. Texts by Daniel Borrillo and Alexander Schneider.
VENCER is a story on REDLIST 5 that addresses the confiscation of the male body by military power and reclaims the value of Eros in contrast to the bellicose spirit. This story comes with two texts—one by Professor Daniel Borrillo and another by Alexander Schneider—which provide depth and context to a visual language that seeks to be political as well.
AMOS BADERTSCHER
It´s All About The Eyes
Text by Hunter O’Hanian
To mark the publication of a book celebrating the work of the photographer Amos Badertshcher, his editor Hunter O’Hanian, has contributed a piece to REDLIST 5. REDLIST seeks to recognize Badertscher’s work as an essential part of photography whose work poses vital questions for the future.
NICE MEETING YOU
Photography by Gerardo Vizmanos
Continuing with the theme of the issue, friendship, this story on REDLIST 5 presents a series of recents photographs of my work, created in spaces of trust that only friendship can make possible.
A queer photography exhibition that explores the intersections of intimacy, desire, and identity in the contemporary landscape of escalating culture wars, with state-sponsored, religious and corporate homophobia and censorship on the rise on both sides of the Atlantic.
Text by Gerardo Vizmanos
On May 1st, the exhibition Romantic Ideal, curated by Slava Mogutin, and featuring a group of queer artists opened in New York City
At REDLIST, we’re proud to present this special exhibition that brings together a community of artists connected by friendship. To accompany the images, I´ve written a text reflecting on the meaning of Friendship.
AFTER THE BEAT
Photography by Gerardo Vizmanos and Style by Giorgio Moraa
In the techno scene of the 1990s, friendship played a crucial role in shaping both local and global movements, fueling its rise of as a cultural phenomenon.
Camaraderie and solidarity were essential, as techno in the gabber scene often existed on the margins of mainstream society. Many of its members identified as part of a community united by a countercultural identity and a shared sense of rebellion.
